There are six major institutions that teach formal magic

  • The Black Tower: Ajuran Union . Located in Ajur’s capital city, the Black Tower likes to call itself the oldest magical institute in the world. The truth is the original Black Tower was in the nearby kingdom of Swasgaar. It has been destroyed and rebuilt many times over its history. The modern Black Tower has very little to do with the original.
  • Imperial Engineering Corps: Alteir Imperiate Along with teaching mundane engineering and alchemy, the Imperial Engineering Corps also teaches Practical Arcana.
  • The University: Empire of Duras The grand, ancient sprawling complex, Parts of it still unrepaired from when it was damaged during the Second Sundering.
  • The Collegium Arcanum: Acrian Confederation the least formal of all the Colleges, while it has sketched out coursework, the meat of the college is handled through a network of mentors and apprenticeships.
  • The Bound Order of the Scroll: Brotherhood of Trevast In the west, wizards study in monestary-like settings. The Order of the Scroll is forbidden from partaking in alcohol and drugs, or physical relationships outside the bonds of marriage. Necromancy is forbidden in the Order, as are contacting outsiders of any alignment.
  • The Institute of Greater Understanding: Consortium of Xur A wizarding school specializing heavily in necromancy. The entire point of students of the Institute is to prepare to become Liches. Those that fail in this task either must hope they attract the eye of one of the Vampire Houses, or they will be put to death in horrifying ritual sacrifice, to fuel the
