Levium

Here’s what you need to know about Levium

Levium is a substanced used in the enchanting of ships to allow them to float. As demonstrated

New Spell: Levium Levitation

School: Transmutation; Level: Reliquarian: 2, Sorcerer/Wizard: 2, Druid: 3.
Casting Time: 1 minute/pound; See text
Components: V, S, M (1 ounce of Levium per pound lifted, see text)
Range: Touch
Target: Any inanimate object
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: None; SR: None

Description:

The caster transforms the levium from its inactive liquid state to its active energy state and imbues any inanimate object with its properties. The spell’s duration and the amount of Levium used changes depending on how much weight you wish to counterbalance. There is no limitation to how much levium you use, however, as a general rule of thumb, if you use too much it will slowly rise and too little it will slowly sink.

New Spell: Levium Extraction

School: Transmutation; Level: Reliquarian: 2, Sorcerer/Wizard: 2, Druid: 3.
Casting Time: 1 minute/pound negated; See text
Components: V, S, F (One Glass bottle or other container)
Range: Touch
Target: Any inanimate object imbued with Levium
Duration: Instant
Saving Throw: None; SR: None

Description:
By touching an object imbued with Levium, you may negate one pound or more pounds of magical levitation on an object imbued with Levium. As a result, you fill a bottle with eight-tenths of an ounce for every pound of magical levitation negated.

The Law of Cohesion

Any damage done to a levium-imbued object causes Levium to “Bleed” from the object, and make it slowly sink. Generally the point at which it ceases to be able to hold itself aloft is also the point at which it falls appart entirely

Levium Floatation

Almost every ship has a spellcaster aboard to manage the levitation of the vessel. Adjusting the Levium amount with spells is cost-efficient but slow. Many war vessels make use of Ballast and “Breakers”, portions of the ship that serve no purpose other than to break when needed to quickly adjust their altitude in combat.
